Viva La Salsa Dura Vol 1

Interesting
2-CD set of rare vintage salsa dura by the likes of the Don Juan Orchestra,
Willie Melendez, Porfi Jimenez, Felix Martinez, Los Astros, Orchestra Broadway,
Mike Rosario and others. CD-1 has all of these twelve classics in their original
glory. CD-2 are remixes of these same tracks via the handiwork of DJ Duste of
Australia. And they sound great...
A great double-length set of hard salsa tracks -- pulled mostly from smaller
indie labels and other rare sources -- and presented here with one CD of original
versions, plus a bonus disc of remixes! The original tunes are more than enough
to win us over on this one -- because many are the kind of standout tracks that
you'd find on records that maybe don't have that much more to offer -- pulled
out, dusted off, and given great new focus here. The remixes are slightly more
contemporary, but not too much so -- still mostly built from the core acoustic
elements of the original tracks, and never too electric or beat-heavy.
